Bathroom remodels in Knoxville

Primary suites, hall baths and powder rooms, taken down to the studs when they need it. A bathroom is small, but it holds a lot of plumbing, tile and waterproofing that has to be done right.

What the work involves

Most bathroom remodels start with demolition to the subfloor and studs, especially around the tub or shower. From there the work is rough plumbing, electrical and ventilation, then backer board and waterproofing, tile, vanity, fixtures, lighting and trim.

The parts you will never see matter most. A shower pan, waterproofing membrane and a vent fan that actually moves air out of the room are what keep a bathroom sound for years. Tile goes over that work, not in place of it.

Signs it is the right project

How we run it

We walk the bathroom with you, talk through what you want, and come back with a written estimate. No work starts until you have signed off on the scope and price, and the contract sets the scope and schedule.

Your project team sends progress updates every week. Once the work is done we do a final walk-through together, and nothing is finished until every item on the punch list is.

What drives cost

Size matters, but the bigger factors are what moves and what you choose. Keeping the toilet, tub or shower and vanity where they are keeps cost down. Moving drains, converting a tub to a curbless shower or enlarging the room adds work. Tile choices, glass, fixtures and vanities vary widely in cost.

Condition is the other factor. Water damage behind old tile or under the floor is common, and permits and inspections are part of the plan for the job. We cover these in the estimate.

Moisture and humidity

East Tennessee summers are humid, and a bathroom adds its own steam on top of that. Without good ventilation, moisture settles into drywall, trim and the framing around the shower. In older Knoxville homes we often find bathroom fans vented into the attic or missing altogether. We look at how the room is ventilated as part of every bathroom remodel.

How long it takes

It depends on scope. A powder room is quicker than a primary suite with a custom tile shower. Your schedule is set in the contract, and the weekly updates show where the job stands.

What the work covers

Common questions

Can you turn my tub into a walk-in shower?

In most bathrooms, yes. It involves new drain work and waterproofing, and we look at the floor structure and drain location when we walk the room.

What if there is water damage under the old tile?

We show you what we find, explain the repair and what it changes, and wait for your sign-off before doing work outside the signed scope.

Can you remodel more than one bathroom at a time?

Yes. If you need a working bathroom during the job, we plan the sequence so one stays in service. We talk this through in the estimate.
